HOW YOUR VIDEO IS JUDGED

There are 2 rounds in the contest

Round 1

For the first round we will judge your video on three main things:

How clear and easy your instructions are to follow.
How easy it is to hear and see you in the video. (That’s why higher quality videos are helpful.)
How good the food (or drink) tastes. (We will make each recipe from the best videos).

Many of the strongest videos will qualify for round two and be posted on our youtube channel. See below for how to win in Round 2.

Round 2

If you make it to Round 2, you’ve got a real shot!! The key, will be how many people like and watch your whole video. Once you have made it this far, we will post your video on our youtube channel and we will email you to let you know when your video will be posted so you can share it with your friends and family!! Then, your video will be voted on by viewers.

At the end of the contest, we’ll notify the top 3 “Kids Cook Winners.” Winners will receive prizes. If you participate in this pilot, you will have a chance to give input that will help shape the longterm contest, have a lot of fun along the way, and can participate in future contests if you want. Thanks for participating!!

SUGGESTIONS TO HELP YOU WIN

These are helpful suggestions but none of them need to be followed (unlike the rules)

Pick a dish or drink that you are excited to make – you’ll have more fun and with your enthusiasm, will be more likely to win.
Don’t overcrowd your videos. The suggested number of people is between 1 and 3 people.
If more than 3 people want to be in a video, consider submitting multiple videos in the same contest.
Make sure that the people in your video can be clearly seen and heard.
Share, share, share. The more you share your video with people, the better chance you have of winning the contest.
Don’t just share it, but use your video and send messages to encourage people to:

like your video
share your video with people that they know

Be natural. A script can help but people love when you are yourself.
Take a picture of your finished food or drink (arranged in a way to make it look nice) and submit it with your video
